R for Power BI Users Part II – New Enterprise DNA Course

by | Announcement, Power BI

The R language is most commonly used in graphics and statistical computing. Using it alongside Power BI can yield powerful results, knowing that statistical analysis and data visualizations are the backbone of every Power BI report.

However, a lot of people avoid using R because it requires coding. But as we pointed out in the previous course about R for Power BI, it’s actually easier than you think.

The 2nd installment in this 2-part series, this course was created by one of our Enterprise DNA Experts, George Mount.

Who The Course Is For

This intermediate-level course is a great fit for Power BI users who would like to:

  • Learn a new language to maximize their use of Power BI
  • Perform more statistical analysis using Power BI
  • Enhance their visualizations
  • Go beyond what Power BI offers by default

If you have no previous experience working with the R language, it is best to take R For Power BI Users – Part 1 to make it easier for you to grasp the concepts that will be discussed in this course.

What You Can Learn From This Course

The 1st part of this course has given some of the basics of R, especially coming from a statistical standpoint. This time, participants could expect to learn:

  • Working with ggplot2 for data visualization and tidymodels for statistical modeling
  • How to work with large datasets
  • How to work with text data
  • Working with correlation and regression

These could give you a solid foundation on how to integrate R into your report development process and go beyond the analysis and visualization options offered in Power BI by default.

About George Mount

George Mount has over 10 years of analytic experience and has worked across various industries — from retail to healthcare. Although he mostly works on statistical programming and general analytics literacy, he also specialized in business & financial modeling, Excel, R, research methods and analysis, and technical coaching & curriculum development.

He wrote the book Advancing Into Analytics: From Excel to Python to R, which is one of best go-to resources on the topic. He also manages a popular data analytics blog called Stringfest Analytics.

George’s series on the R language can be accessed exclusively through an Enterprise DNA membership. If you’re not yet a member, this might be the best time to sign up and gain access not just to this course, but to other courses and exclusive resources and events as well.

All the best,
