Power BI Challenge 19 – Call Centre Data Reporting

by | Power BI

We know that you’ve been enjoying our Power BI challenges and we’ve been kept on our toes coming up with great topics and datasets for you to work on to keep the excitement going round after round. That’s why we’ve prepared some great material for you and will continue to make each challenge more interesting than the last.

For this round, we’ll be dealing with some call centre data.

Call centres process so much data for any type of business, knowing that they’re the main point of contact for any concern customers may have. We can’t wait to see what all of you would come up with to analyse and present the data effectively.

Challenge #19

We’ve always strived to make every challenge reminiscent of real-life scenarios, and this challenge is no different. Here, we’re going to help with the expansion of a call centre by showing them what Power BI can do for them.

The dataset is quite detailed, and contains the following files.

There are also a few instructions and reminders here to guide participants as you work on this particular challenge.

For this challenge, there won’t be any limits in terms of the number of pages or techniques to be used. Feel free to use any approach that you think will yield the best results.

Deadline for submission is on May 9, 2022.

The Power BI Challenge

The Power BI Challenge has always been an amazing way to improve every participant’s knowledge and skills in Power BI, that’s why we continue to find ways to make it better in each round. We also love seeing the collaboration within and outside the community as people work together in finding the best solutions for each scenario.

To further widen the impact of our challenges, we’ve introduced a dedicated space on LinkedIn meant for non-members who want to experience the impact that these challenges can have on every data enthusiast and data professional in the platform.

We look forward to seeing members and non-members working together and pushing each other to be the best they can be in terms of Power BI and other things data.

We still look forward to seeing the amazing collaboration and mentoring we’ve seen in the Enterprise DNA Forum for this challenge. This is one of the things that made these challenges a success as rookies, seasoned users and experts generously exchanged tips and best practices.

We believe that this is one of the secrets behind the amazing growth in our repeat participants. Most of them start out with basic reports and dashboards and eventually move on to more complicated techniques and approaches as they join more challenges. This also proves what a great learning tool these challenges are.

Speaking of learning tools, Enterprise DNA members are also benefitting from these reports created in these challenges. Because we feature every submission in the Power BI Challenge Showcase, members are able to learn new techniques based on these reports.

The showcase is a collection of submissions that allows users to download reports and learn from the way each report was developed.

We still have the same categories, but this time, we’re also looking forward to gaining more participants from the new LinkedIn space we created.

Winners can get free subscriptions to the Enterprise DNA Learning Platform, Enterprise DNA swag packs, and other prizes depending on the category they belong to.

In judging who the rightful winners are, we use the 4 pillars of a great Power BI report as basis:

  • Data loading and transformation
  • Data modeling
  • DAX calculations
  • Reports and visualizations

Once you have these four factors in place, you’ll have better chances of winning the challenge.

How To Join

  1. Email the PBIX file to [email protected]
  2. If you’re a member, post the screenshot and the Publish to Web URL of your report in the Enterprise DNA Forum.
  3. If you’re not a member, post the screenshot and the Publish to Web URL of your report in LinkedIn. Tag Enterprise DNA and say, “I accepted the Enterprise DNA challenge”.
