Enterprise DNA Learning Summit August 2019 – Final Day Wrap Up

by | DAX, Learning Summits, Power BI

We have reached the end of this quarter’s Learning Summit! What a fantastic event it has been. Thank you to all those who attended any session or have watched any of the replays.

Always appreciate the feedback that comes in.

Just to wrap up for the summit, I thought I would review some of the content that was covered in yesterday’s session. Both of these sessions were quite detailed and I covered a lot of content that I find truly exciting and interesting about Power BI.

The first session was all about Budgeting Techniques. Most specifically a deep dive into the TREATAS function.

There are so many nuances to this one function it can at times be utterly confusing. That’s why I spent a lot of time diving into many scenarios you might find yourself in when creating some budgeting analysis.

If you would like to watch the replay for all 3-Day Learning Summit event you can by using the link below.

Enterprise DNA Learning Summit, August 2019 – Replays

In the last session we covered a number of ideas around improving and optimizing DAX formulas.

We covered techniques around formula syntax and formatting. Getting your formulas setup intuitively can make a big difference in your understanding of how DAX works.

We also briefly went through the performance analyzer. This a new tool from Power BI that enables you to have a deeper understanding of how your formulas are operating and the speed in which they are calculating.

That’s all from me around the summit. Thank you very much to all who attended and participated in the event. I thoroughly enjoyed putting on the summit and running the sessions.

I hope you liked all the unique sessions featured in this event and hopefully, you can find the time to utilize many of the techniques and concepts that we’ve discussed and can implement some of them into your own Power BI development work that you are completing right now.

All the best.

Sam
